The Livingston County Education Alliance (LCEA), the foundation arm of the Livingston County Area Chamber of Commerce, has announced these years’ recipients of its annual scholarship program. The Scholarship Committee, comprised of leaders from across the county, worked diligently to select four exemplary students from an incredibly talented and deserving pool of applicants. Congratulations to our 2022 LCEA scholarship recipients:

Conner Knapp
Dansville High School and GV BOCES Mt. Morris Metal Trades Program
Attending Lincoln Electric Company Welding Technology and Training Center
Conner’s career goal is to become an underwater welder. A well-rounded young man, Conner has been active in the music and band program since 7th grade, he was also involved in soccer, cross-country, swimming, and track and field. He has been very active in the Boy Scouts of America for the past 8 years, volunteering and serving with positivity and reliability. His scoutmaster shares that Conner “…is a hard worker…and has proven to be a good leader.” Conner has excelled academically at Dansville, making Merit and Honor roles, as well as in his Metal Trades program.

Sydney Matthews
Geneseo High School
Attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology, studying Aerospace Engineering
Sydney plans to become an Aerospace Engineer for NASA. With an incredibly diverse background and a history of leadership roles in the programming she has been affiliated with, she can certainly achieve her goals. Involved in music, theater, Girl Scouts, Odyssey of the Mind, soccer, softball, and so much more; Sydney has managed to balance her commitments and achieve academic excellence and still have time for community service. She also was selected to participate in a 2021 summer internship program at RIT focused on solar sailing technology, the next frontier in spacecraft propulsion. One of Sydney’s teachers shared that she, “…is legitimately interested in every part of the learning process…works extraordinarily well with others…” and that she gives those around her “…the hope that humanity just may stand a chance in the long run .”

Triniti Muscarella
Mount Morris High School and GV BOCES Mt. Morris Criminal Justice
Attending SUNY Brockport, studying psychology and then counseling
Triniti’s career goal is to become a counselor focused on helping adolescents with mental health challenges. She wishes to become a role model for others as her school counselor has been for her. Although she is a fraternal twin, her counselor describes her as “one of a kind…optimistic and positive…a dedicated scholar…mature…a leader…charismatic.” Triniti, dedicated to her school community, volunteers at most school events. She is active in drama club, student government, soccer, track, and more. Triniti is the NY State Skills USA Secretary, president of the criminal justice club, and a Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership award recipient.

Lucas Stewart
Livonia High School
Attending Florida Tech, Florida’s STEM University, studying Aviation Management with Flight
Lucas’s career focus is to become a commercial airline pilot. Active in student government, football, hockey, baseball, chorus, the high school musical, and a volunteer in many areas of church ministries, Lucas has also received the DAR scholarship and other awards. One of his teachers shares that Lucas “…consistently demonstrates all of the qualities of an excellent student…has always been mature for his age…(has) a strong internal drive and is not afraid to work hard to achieve his goals.” Lucas himself shares that he appreciates the power of empathy, compassion, kindness, and valuing the little things in life.
